Over 40 styling – simple ways to update your every day styling routine.

Sometimes making a few small changes to your styling routine can make a big difference to the way you look and feel. In this episode of this series, I’m going to tell you how to change it up a bit so you look and feel fabulous every day.

It’s easy to get stuck in a rut of wearing our hair and makeup in the same way, just because it’s easy. Well making a few small changes can also be easy and make you feel like you’ve made a big change.

Makeup routine: When last did you reassess your makeup routine. This should be done every couple of years. Makeup products change, and so does our skin. I remember the days when we used to wear pinkish tone foundation and it was so thick… well now we can wear super light-weight products and they are all yellow toned, because we all have yellow undertones, no matter how dark or light.

It’s a great idea to go for a makeup lesson every once in a while to update. Then, you can just make a few tweeks.

Choose one main focus area. It may be eyes, lips, cheeks etc. I recently bought this ivy color eyeliner that just makes my eye color pop. I also love nude lipstick, but it often doesn’t last long, so I decided to get a nude pencil to accentuate my lips and make it last longer.

Try something different with your hair. This doesn’t have to be major. Maybe you decide to wear it down if you always wear it up or the other way around. One of my style resolutions this year is to not try so hard to always look my best, so any easy up-style has become really key for me since it can take me a bit of time to style this mane.

Now it’s your turn, what changes can you make to your styling routine that will make you feel fresh and new? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
