Since my video on how to dress when you are short was such a hit, I’m bringing you a whole series. In this video, I’m going to show you how to dress when you are short for daywear, for women over 40.
Being short doesn’t have to bring you down. You just have to know how to dress. These are tricks I use myself as I am 5.2.
I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again, defining your waist is the best way to make your legs look taller instantly. How does this work… let me show you how.
Dresses and skirts: Wear shorter length dresses and skirts that nip in the waist: if you don’t like your legs, wear leggings or tights. If you really want to make your legs look long, wear the same color tights as shoes. If you really don’t like to show your legs, wear lengths just below your knee or full length. To take this look further you can add a belt right up into your waist.
Jackets: Wear jackets that nip in the waist in either a cropped length or long. You can wear a jacket open creating one long line down your body, making you look taller than you are.
Pants: mid – high waist slim leg cut covering the shoe. High waisted pants are a short girls best friend as they make you look taller than you are. If you have a flattish tummy, you can tuck in your tops. If you have a bit of a tummy that you want to hide, wear tops that just cover your waist band without being too long. The high waisted pant allows you to wear shorter tops without flashing any skin.
Shoes: Wedge or block heels are more comfortable than stilettos. If you cannot wear high heels, wear a pointy toe stylish flat or a nude shoe. A nude shoe makes your foot and shoe look like an extension of your leg, making them appear longer.
