In this video I am going to show you how to dress when you are short for a fabulous over 40 casual look.
When it comes to casual wear, usually it’s jean and sneakers… but it depends on which jeans, which sneakers… I’ll show you what I mean.
First rule to looking taller is to define your waist! This makes your legs automatically look longer.
Now, how does that translate into casual wear? Let me show you.
High waisted jeans are a girl’s best friend. A dark wash or dark wash with fades going down the leg will make you look taller.
Avoid ¾ jeans this shortens your look instantly.
Wear a fitted top to define your waist OR tuck in a baggier top and your waist is defined.
If you have a flattish tummy, tucking in your tops is best. If you don’t you can still wear shorter tops without showing skin, which will make your legs look longer anyway.
No for the sneakers… I love flatform or wedge sneakers. They are sneaky because they give you extra height without the discomfort. They also look casual. Rose gold is going to be hottest metallic for Spring… so take note.
Wear shorter jackets: You want to show as much leg as possible. So avoid mid length jackets. Either go for short jackets or just above the knee, not in-between.
